Connected Health Care, a leading healthcare recruitment and staffing firm, is now hiring a skilled Travel Medical–Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a Critical Access Hospital located near Effingham and Mount Vernon, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Med-Surg RNs who enjoy providing compassionate, high-quality care in a close-knit rural hospital setting while earning competitive travel pay.

Medical–Surgical RN Responsibilities
-
Provide comprehensive bedside nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions.
-
Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and documentation in accordance with hospital standards.
-
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
-
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop patient care plans.
-
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, post-discharge care, and treatment plans.
-
Maintain compliance with safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and documentation standards.
Education & Certification Requirements
-
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Illinois or compact state license required.
-
Minimum 1 year of recent Medical–Surgical nursing experience (hospital-based preferred).
-
BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
-
Ability to work independently in a Critical Access Hospital environment.
-
Strong clinical assessment, multitasking, and communication skills.
-
EMR experience preferred.
