Job Description
As a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures to assist in the detection and treatment of vascular conditions. You will work closely with physicians, ensuring accurate and timely results, and provide outstanding patient care.
- Perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound exams, including carotid, venous, and arterial imaging
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and clear communication
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring high-quality images and diagnostic results
- Assist in interpreting images and providing clinical data to support diagnosis and treatment
- Maintain accurate patient records and reports
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols at all times
- Provide excellent patient care, explaining procedures and answering any questions
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to provide optimal care
- Participate in maintaining and calibrating ultrasound equipment
- Ensure the work environment adheres to regulatory and quality standards
Education & Certification Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Vascular Technology, or a related field
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- 1+ year of experience in vascular ultrasound preferred
- Knowledge of vascular anatomy, pathology, and sonographic techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in performing vascular ultrasound procedures, including carotid, venous, and arterial imaging
- Strong understanding of vascular anatomy and pathology
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients
- Attention to detail and ability to interpret ultrasound images accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality
